Overview
At Poeta, we believe in making beautiful things with technology. As a Software Engineering Intern at Poeta Digital, you’ll work closely with the Calgary-based delivery team to document project requirements, establish acceptance criteria, implement select technologies and perform quality assurance testing and bug troubleshooting. You will collaborate with the Program Manager, Technology Lead, Business Analyst and Digital Strategy resources to plan project deliverables and timelines.
Poeta Digital is a global software development services company with operations in Calgary, Seattle, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Over the past 14 years, Poeta has 3/4 developed 300+ applications spanning a wide range of technologies and platforms for businesses in all phases of their development and growth. We specialize in mobile application development, workflow automation and application integration. We have development partnerships with HubSpot and Workato, and are actively involved in the Alberta entrepreneurial ecosystem.

What we're looking for
Our ideal candidates will be developers who like to work on large, complex projects with a diverse group of experienced developers, product owners, project managers and quality assurance specialists in a collaborative team environment.
They will be able to contribute to team solutioning discussions and have a proven record of solving complex problems with simple, repeatable solutions. The ability to refactor legacy code onto new platforms will be highly valued.
They will be a strong communicator with solid interpersonal skills in both in-person and digital team environments.
We are looking for individuals who have 5+ years of experience working with the following technologies
- C# (or companion C-based variants)
- ASP.NET (preference for Core, though other versions acceptable)
- Azure and/or AWS Cloud
- Experienced in functional/API and/or unit testing
- Experience with scripting or powerShell
- Knowledge of modern web technologies, such as CSS, Typescript/ES6, Less/Sass, HTML5
- Familiarity with Git experience working in an agile environment
Bonus points for
- Advanced experience with front-end frameworks such as VueJS, ReactJS
- Advanced experience with enterprise database systems
- Experience developing native mobile applications in Swift, Kotlin and/or ReactNative
- Familiarity with Distributed Transactions
- Familiarity with embedded systems
- Ability to converse in Vietnamese

What to expect from your co-op internship
In addition to working with a diverse range of technologies, you will have the opportunity to engage with colleagues for both personal and professional development, and participate in activities with other interns throughout your internship.
Duration: From May, 2023 to August, 2023
Mentorship: You will work simultaneously with a manager and a mentor to help you develop your skills.
Impact: Our interns are working right alongside full time team members on both internal initiatives and client products and services.
Networking & Development: Learning activities, networking opportunities, and social events take place throughout the summer to enrich your experience.

What you'll be doing
- Develop and oversee the implementation of growth marketing campaigns, with a focus on content marketing, social media marketing, and paid advertising
- Develop and execute the growth plan in conjunction with the leadership team
- Leverage analytic tools (Google Analytics, Think with Google (YouTube), and Google Trends) to conduct market research to find ways to enhance the company’s marketing efforts
- Develop, execute, scale campaigns and brainstorm and launch new experiments. Conduct A/B tests and then scale the winners
- Conceive and execute a wide range of content campaigns to drive education & engagement
- Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers
- Drive top-line results in order to hit weekly, quarterly, and annual growth targets
- Relentlessly optimize campaigns by combining quantitative and qualitative insights to improve conversion and reduce costs
- Ensure the company blog, social media accounts, and website are continuously updated and optimized to provide a great user experience
- Compile performance reports to brief leadership on marketing initiatives and product performance and provide recommendations on improvement strategies
- Manage all social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and scale paid ad campaigns
- Analyze the overall sales funnel impact and making adjustments where necessary
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field required - preferred but not required
- Skilled with experimentation - constantly thinking of new ways to hit goals, cut costs and dive deep into campaign metrics

- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Strong writing skills and know how to write conversationally
- Able to manage SEO/SEM, database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
- A track record of successful growth campaigns - identifying target audiences & developing digital campaigns that engage and convert
- Solid knowledge of website analytics tools and can optimize landing pages and user funnels
- Strong Excel competency, and comfortable working with complex data and analytics

- Setup development and production environments on Amazon Web services (AWS)
- Setup and manage database systems: SQL server, MySQL
- Setup Windows and Linux environment.
- Setup and manage CI tools: Jenkins and SonarQube
- Work with developers to troubleshoot issues if needed.
- Support production if needed.
- Train developers on cloud computing.
- Work with IaC.
