The Problem

Kings Energy field service technicians were burdened with an inefficient process for populating forms with configuration data from field service calls. Furthermore, the technicians stored the most current configurations locally on their laptops and had to update the main database upon returning to the office. This manual data entry process introduced delays in billing and caused many data synchronization issues which required significant outlay to detect and correct.

The Solution

Poeta migrated the Kings Energy database environment to the AWS RDS database infrastructure, which solved the company’s data synchronization issues and provided reliable uptime and scalability. Secondly, Poeta designed and built a mobile iOS platform that allowed field service technicians to be more efficient and productive by pulling data from the cloud-backed service and other disparate systems via API to pre-populate forms and configuration. Subsequent integration to the Kings Energy financial system allowed service technicians to generate invoices on the spot in the field.

The Result

Kings Energy field service technicians are now able to complete their jobs faster and more accurately while reducing the workload on central office staff cleaning up data integrity issues. The Poeta-built application runs in an AWS environment that provides monitoring and alerting for reliable, consistent, and resilient service delivery. Invoicing accuracy has been greatly improved, resulting in a recapture of previously lost billing opportunities and an increase in revenue. Integration has also dramatically improved cash flow, triggering automated invoicing in real time and reducing lapsed time between the completion of work and receipt of payment.
